Wanganui Conference March 2008

Wanganui Conference March 2008

It was my pleasure to open the Dunes Conference in Wanganui on March 5. I congratulate your organisation for what I have been told, was a very successful and informative conference. Not only were ideas shared, and information gleaned from other parts of the globe, but new friends were made through the networking.

I was impressed by the passion in which many of the participants felt, for the maintenance and retention of sand dunes, the natural environment and natural vegetation. You have captured a fascinating part of the world’s coastal processes. Your research and shared information should be spread throughout coastal centres for debate.

Thank you for visiting Wanganui and allowing us to host your inaugural conference.

Dot McKinnon
Deputy Mayor Wanganui
